SASSA pays permanent grants on a fixed schedule each month, grouped by grant type. Knowing the order helps you plan and avoid queuing on the busiest days.
This guide explains the typical monthly payment order, how SRD dates differ, and what to do when a payment is late.
Permanent grants are paid over the first few working days of each month in a set order. The typical sequence is:

| 3rd day onward | All grants remain available in accounts and at pay points |
Money does not disappear if you do not collect it on your day. Once paid, it stays in your account or at the pay point until you withdraw it.
The SRD grant follows a different pattern to permanent grants. SRD payments are usually made from the second half of the month onward, and each person's date can differ. Always check your SRD status to see your assigned "payment date" for the month.
The Older Person's Grant is normally paid first, on the opening payment day of the month, together with the Disability Grant.
The order stays the same, but the exact calendar dates change each month depending on weekends and public holidays. SASSA publishes the dates in advance.
SRD payments are spread across the month and each approved applicant is assigned an individual date, so two people can be paid on different days.
SASSA pays permanent grants in a fixed order at the start of each month, while SRD dates are individual and fall later in the month. If a payment is late, confirm your status and banking details first, then contact SASSA.
